Endaoment Sponsors First Hackathon, Empowering On-Chain Philanthropy

We're delighted to share our recent involvement as a proud sponsor in LionHack 2023, Endaoment’s first-ever hackathon. Organized by Blockchain at Columbia University, in collaboration with Violet DAO (NYU Blockchain), this annual event brings together 300+ students and crypto enthusiasts, with the common goal of leveraging blockchain technology to create innovative solutions for real-world challenges.

LionHack was supported by several notable sponsors, including Near, Jump, Solana, dYdX, and Ava Labs. The team at Endaoment was honored to join them, empowering developers to build on top of our charitable giving platform using our newly launched SDK, API and Subgraph.

Participants presented an array of impressive projects, with two teams specifically incorporating Endaoment's SDK into their creations: Fluilanthropy and CryptoHuskies.

Fluilanthropy

Fluilanthropy ingeniously repurposes Endaoment's address book of nonprofit ETH addresses, enabling monthly donation streams directly to a nonprofit. Mirroring the traditional philanthropic concept of monthly giving, Fluilanthropy brings this idea on-chain by allowing users to connect their wallets and set up a monthly stream.

Developer, Hangqi Zheng, explained that the team aimed to “make donating crypto to nonprofits a lifestyle, and bond the blockchain community to work together towards expanding on-chain philanthropy.”

Zheng is looking forward to continuing to iterate on the project, adding, “through Fluilanthropy's first money-streaming donation with Endaoment, we will allow more users to define their way of donation and enable the energy of crypto philanthropy."

CryptoHuskies & EarnforGood

The CryptoHuskies team developed EarnforGood, a platform that rewards users with cryptocurrency for completing tasks like watching videos, taking surveys, and providing feedback. Users can then donate a portion of their earnings to a charity of their choice.

CryptoHuskies developer, Aayush Halgekar, expressed his enthusiasm: "The intersection of philanthropy and cryptocurrency is a new domain that we explored in a recent hackathon, and we are excited to continue building this project to contribute to this area. By incentivizing users to earn cryptocurrency and donate to charities, we hope to encourage more people to use this medium for philanthropic activities."

Endaoment’s first Hackathon

At Endaoment, we believe that technology can be a powerful force for good, and we're passionate about making that a reality. One of the ways we fulfill our mission is by participating in hackathons like LionHack, where we can connect with other developers who share our commitment to social impact.

Attending this year's LionHack was an incredible experience, and we're excited about participating in future hackathons. We're constantly seeking ways to expand our impact and reach, and are committed to making a difference in the world through technological innovation.
