We are thrilled to announce that Endaoment has successfully completed its fiscal audits for the years 2022 and 2023. This milestone builds upon our first nonprofit audit in 2021 and underscores our unwavering commitment to transparency, trust, and operational integrity in managing donor-advised funds through blockchain technology.
As an organization that has raised over $2 million, annual audits are a mandatory requirement for Endaoment. However, we view these audits as more than just a compliance exercise. They represent an opportunity to foster trust among our stakeholders and demonstrate our dedication to transparency in all aspects of our operations.
Preparing for the audits involved educating the auditors from SingerLewak about our onchain administration of donor-advised funds. This process allowed us to showcase the robustness and reliability of our onchain financial practices.
The audit process highlighted the transformative potential of blockchain technology in financial reporting. By leveraging onchain accounting, we could provide transaction hashes and Etherscan links as irrefutable proof of transactions. This level of transparency and immutability is unparalleled in traditional accounting systems.
Our controller, facilitated by Zeni and supported by CoinSolv/Hyperion for onchain components, played a crucial role in bridging the gap between traditional and blockchain accounting practices. Their expertise ensured a comprehensive and accurate representation of our financial operations during the audits.
Conducting the audits for two fiscal years simultaneously allowed us to showcase our growth and improvements in protocol deployment across various blockchain layers. Over the 24-month period, we redeployed the protocol on mainnet and expanded to Optimism and Base L2s, demonstrating our commitment to operational efficiency and scalability.
While our 2021 audit required significant educational efforts and faced technical challenges with our first crypto accounting provider, this time, the auditors from SingerLewak adapted well to the unique aspects of blockchain transactions, with no significant challenges or deficiencies noted. This smooth process reflects both our improved internal processes and the growing understanding of blockchain in the accounting industry.
This audit is possibly the largest nonprofit audit ever conducted using onchain recordkeeping. This achievement showcases the viability and benefits of blockchain technology in charitable giving.
Across our first three years of audits, two clear patterns have emerged:
The persistent knowledge gap in the accounting industry regarding blockchain emphasizes the need for specialized expertise.
The transformative potential of blockchain for audits, where the technology itself ensures the integrity and availability of financial data, eliminating the reliance on third-party brokers.
These patterns underscore the importance of Endaoment's role in driving the adoption of blockchain technology in the nonprofit sector and setting new standards for transparency and accountability.
The successful completion of these audits not only reaffirms Endaoment's commitment to operational excellence but also positions us as a leader in integrating blockchain technology in philanthropy. We remain dedicated to advancing our platform, enhancing user trust, and pushing the boundaries of what is possible in nonprofit financial management.
The "3Rs" process we implemented after our first audit has strengthened our financial reporting and contributed to a smoother audit experience this time around. We continue to refine our processes based on each audit's insights.
We invite our stakeholders, donors, and the wider community to engage with us, explore our platform, and join us on our journey to transform charitable giving through the power of blockchain technology.
