We’ve launched support for seven new portfolios that interface with real world assets (RWAs), or as we refer to them: traditional investment portfolios.
Donor-advised funds (DAFs) at Endaoment will now have 15 board-approved choices for allocating donated capital. We’ve also launched new functionality around portfolio categories that’s made browsing portfolios easier than ever.
You’ll notice these improvements right away: categories on the portfolios page quickly and easily navigate you to the offerings that meet your diverse needs and risk appetites.
Keep in mind: these traditional investments are different from our onchain native investments. They take some time to settle with our exchange partners, and any funds deposited into these portfolios will have a settlement time, likely one to two business days. We’re working to lower this through programmatic applications and better back office processes, and expect enhanced expediency down the road.
In spite of the old-school settlement restrictions, this feature set represents an industry-leading level of oversight for DAF advisors. It’s all part of our mission to make Endaoment the best home for giving, regardless of the onchain or offchain nature of donations.
Our goal at Endaoment for this year is to make our DAF platform meet and exceed mainstream giving platforms when it comes to feature set and services offered. We are here to show that giving onchain is the best way to future proof your DAF.
We took a major step in that direction last fall, before we ever stepped foot into the new year, with the launch of Endaoment for Everyone at the beginning of Giving Season 2023.
Endaoment for Everyone took us from a DAF provider that was only available to those with digital wallets and Ethereum based assets, to one that supports donors with any asset and any login; we now support seamless donations of traditional stocks, cash and more with Web2 native login features.
After all, the vast majority of those in the crypto community hold diverse investments, and only a portion in crypto: why should they have to fracture their giving between onchain and offchain providers?
Agnostic donation acceptance is only part of the equation. We knew we must also offer users familiar sufficiently diversified investment options for donated capital - both to attract existing DAF users as well as continue to fulfill our regulatory obligations surrounding prudent management. Enter our new traditional asset portfolios.
This new infrastructure is also of note, as it allows for DAF advisors to invest donations across multiple chains, creating access to opportunities that may otherwise not be available on the chain their DAF is deployed.
This is not only a major improvement for our support of traditional assets, but extends possible investment options in the crypto landscape as well. We’re looking forward to utilizing this new tooling to allow us to do more asset investments across a wider range of investments.
We can now support a wide range of non-EVM assets, bespoke impact investments from onchain providers, and even private wealth manager asset allocations for advisors who want their DAF assets managed by their existing financial professional.
If this interests you, or if you have a DAF at a TradFi institution, we’d love to have you aboard. Feel free to contact our donor relations team at donors@endaoment.org, or join us in our Discord server.
